Title I School Compact

Parent Portion of Compact: 

1. I will strive to teach my child the value of respecting self, others, and property. I will also strive to teach my child appropriate behavior and good manners. 

2. I will strive to make sure my child attends school every day, arriving on time and staying until dismissal. 

3. I will strive to be involved in my child’s education.  Examples of how I can be involved include: Reading with my child 20 minutes a day; helping my child with the reading and math homework sent home each week; attending parent conferences and letting my child’s teacher know if my child is struggling with learning. 

4. I will strive to read all the information the school sends home and contact the school when I have questions or concerns. 

5. I will strive to conduct myself with respect, consideration, and civility when on APS property, such as the Governor Bent Elementary School campus. 

Student Portion of Compact: 

1. I will strive to follow the Cougar expectations. (Show Respect, Solve Problems, Make Good Decisions)

2. I will strive to have good school attendance, be on time for class, and be ready to work every day. 

3. I will strive to ask for help when I don’t understand and need help. 

4. I will strive to complete all homework assignments and read nightly by myself or with a parent for 20 minutes. 

5. I will strive to follow the school-wide vision- Growing Hearts Growing Minds Growing Together.  

Teacher Portion of Compact: 

I will strive to follow the school-wide vision - Growing Hearts Growing Minds Growing Together by:

*Conducting myself in a courteous and professional manner. 

*Providing a challenging curriculum using the Common Core State Standards and setting high expectations in academics and behavior, which are designed to meet all students’ needs.

*Creating a caring space where kids feel safe, understood, and supported in managing their emotions and building friendships.

*Monitoring students’ progress in reading and math, and communicating with families as needed about concerns and successes. 

*Providing positive behavior supports for students.

*Implementing the 90-Day Plan (the school’s roadmap focused on actions to enhance student outcomes)

Administrator Portion of Compact:  

 I will strive to follow the school-wide vision - Growing Hearts Growing Minds Growing Together by:

*Establishing clear and simple ways for families and staff to stay connected and share important information.

*Acting as an instructional leader by supporting teachers in their classrooms. 

*Fostering a supportive environment where all students feel safe, valued, and equipped to manage their emotions and build positive relationships.

*Creating a welcoming atmosphere for students and parents. 

*Implementing the 90-Day Plan
